Penn Highlands Family Medicine-State College

I absolutely love, love, love Penn Highland! I spent a week there 6+ months ago and had the best experience. It's a beautiful facility, spacious, private, rooms, very attentive care and the absolute best medical staff I've ever encountered. Both the nurses and the doctors were so genuine and so kind. I thought perhaps I just got lucky however I had another encounter over the weekend and again, the entire staff were outstanding! I am so thankful to have this facility available to me for care and I'll never go anywhere else.

If I could put zero stars I would. I literally just left here 20 minutes ago. I sat there for almost 2 hours and not a single person checked on me. I got test results via text message and my discharge paperwork via text message. No nurse or doctor came in to go over test results or discharge paperwork. I had to press the nurse call button. Then I heard a nurse say "is someone in room three" before proceeding to check my room. At that point, they realize that someone was still in there and had not been discharged yet. The doctor never came back in to see me. The nurse wanted me to sign paperwork, but I did not as I hadn't been seen and no results were gone over with me. Absolutely unprofessional to have nurses laughing at the nurses station while patients are sitting in the rooms forgotten.

Today I had my appointment with Kyle Sutherland and what a breath of fresh air. There was no rush we sat talked and got to know each other. Talked about my concerns and health goals. If you are looking for functional/family medicine this is place, this is how healthcare should be.
