This feedback is not about the doctors here- the one I was seen by was good and she left the practice but the support staff (especially those who take the calls) could definitely do better. I called in for an appointment and was connected to Courtney who asked me basic questions and preferred location and then put me on hold to go find the schedule for the location I asked for- she comes back and I tell her the dates I would like to be seen, she snaps to say I should have said that when I asked for an appointment. How do I tell her anything when she places me on hold and goes off to check the location's availability? How do I know she doesn't give an appointment for a procedure 1-2 months out? How do I know my preferred date which is 1 month out can't be made because the said location take
Previous Penn employee have never had an issue with scheduling until today. Courtney was beyond rude. If I did not know the care provided I would have hung up in her ear.
Special thanks to "Celeste", my nurse navigator who facilitated my case as I sought out a second opinion to support of the findings of the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). Celeste was polite and cooperative and it was clear to me she is a good employee and I hope that Penn Med would thank her for me and acknowledge her work.
This practice is just horrible with communications. They only make appointments by phone. It takes a long time to reach someone and then it takes longer while they put you on hold to “check the calendar” for each possible date. Also, they take weeks after test results are in to provide any follow up instructions.
I tried getting an appointment twice to see Dr. Marrero. The first time, I was told to get a prescription from my primary. I got a prescription requesting a GI evaluation and treatment. I called again and asked for an appointment. I was then told rather snippiily tha a "GI evaluation and treatment was not a diagnosis." I told Nake, the person scheduling, that there were three other numbers. I read them and asked if they were diagnoses. Nake snarkily said "I have no idea. Go back to your doctor and ask for a diagnosis." I started feeling my blood pressure go up. Things went downhill from there. I asked to speak to a superior and was put on hold for ten minutes. I just hung up. I'll go somewhere else. I'm a Penn grad. This is unacceptable. I'm ashamed of what my University has b
