Penn Endocrinology Perelman

A family member was referred here after a medical emergency at another Penn Medicine location. They received a text message that they do not meet the scheduling requirements, and should contact someone else. No mention of what the requirements are, or why this referred request was declined. Nothing like handling life or death decisions via text messages in an extremely impersonal and dismissive manner. We're now left scrambling. Maybe assign a person to help them find a schedule slot if they are at risk of death without treatment.

When you have a fellow ( doc jr) who can't even figure out how to fax your blood work to geisinger ... she looks up the location on Google vs thru the system and a location phone number pops up . She says she can't find the fax number in like so let's call and get it..fcs.and YOU THE PATIENT make the call get the number and do her job ..... you don't get what you need you don't feel safe or confident in their care .. you feel like you wasted your time and you did so now you have to find another doc and place Oh and by the way my appointment at 10 am I was waiting b and stuck there till 1139 almost 2 full hours for nothing

Let’s see... Dr. Lowry is really sweet, that’s about the only good thing from this office. First visit I waited over an hour just to be put in the room, and then an additional 30 minutes to be seen. Second visit- I was put in a room within 10 minutes of arrival (Yay!) to then sit there for TWO HOURS. The office FORGOT I was in the room and everyone went home for the day. Tried to tell us Dr. Lowry was needed at the hospital and they didn’t know, when called Dr. Lowry flat out said her office staff forgot I was in the room. Was sent a $50 visa gift card “for my troubles”. Next appointment was via video call because of covid, which was fine. Now.. I am at the point where I moved two months ago and have been trying for two months to get my records moved to another state. Records department? M

I have always been able to get appointments when needed, and had calls and emails responded to within a day. Never waited in the waiting room more than 30 minutes or so. Unto the important stuff... Dr Anne Cappola has literally saved my life a couple of times in the eight years that we have known each other. After a move of about 1200 miles I had several other endocrinologists "adjust" my synthroid with dangerous results. (TSH of 35 once, another time of .004) I was almost unable to even call her. The responses were swift, we first did things as virtual appointments, and, as she insisted, the minute I felt good enough to travel we had appointments in her office so that she could insure for herself that I was better. Mrs.Edmundson and Montana are the best in that office. The professionalism keeps me coming back.
