Pediatric Care North: an Affiliate of Children's Mercy

This review is long overdue. I’ve been taking my children to Pediatric Care North for nearly seven years, and we’ve had nothing but positive experiences. Dr. Susan Storm has cared for my oldest since she was just hours old and my youngest since infancy, and it’s meant a lot to have that kind of continuity over the years. The office is well organized, appointments run on time, and when my kids are sick they’re always able to fit us in—which is such a relief with young kids who are around other kids and get sick often. My children genuinely adore Dr. Storm, and I never feel rushed during visits. I trust that my concerns are heard and that my kids’ best interests are always the priority. We had been patients at this practice since my child’s birth and had valued the care we previously received, which makes this recent experience especially disappointing. After our longtime provider retired, our well-child visit with Dr. Beard became one of the most negative pediatric experiences we’ve had, and we will not be returning. During the appointment, it became clear that the office will not continue seeing patients who decline or delay vaccinations, despite this policy not being clearly stated on the website or in any paperwork signed beforehand at the time of our appointment late last year. Our family absolutely loves this practice! Dr. Susan Storm was my pediatrician growing up — my entire family went to her — and now her son, Dr. Shane Storm, is my daughter’s pediatrician. It’s such a special full-circle experience being a second-generation patient with a second-generation doctor. Dr. Shane is incredibly kind, patient, and caring. He takes the time to listen, explain things thoroughly, and makes both kids and parents feel comfortable and confident. We truly couldn’t recommend him and this practice enough. They’ve cared for our family for decades, and we’re so grateful to continue that tradition!

We have been going to Pediatric Care North for years and have always had positive experiences. The staff are knowledgeable, kind, and understanding. I always feel heard and never feel like we are being rushed out of the door. Additionally, I am SO appreciative of their evening hours. Kids always get sick at the most inconvenient times and the peace of mind knowing my kids can be seen outside normal business hours is priceless. My daughter was able to get the care she needed— I called at 5:30 and was seen at 7 and we avoided a trip to the ER/urgent care. Thank you PCN!

Every doctor is wonderful and caring, well all the staff has been exceptional to my children. Plus they are open till 8pm which is super convenient when you have a sick baby after school. Thank you PCN!
