Pediatric Associates Lake Nona

Both of my children have been patients at First Choice (now Pediatric Associates) at Lake Nona, and we couldn’t be happier with the care they receive. The entire staff is truly wonderful, from the friendly and helpful receptionists to the caring nurses and knowledgeable doctors. Everyone takes the time to listen and makes both parents and kids feel comfortable and well cared for. Scheduling appointments has always been easy, even when we’ve needed same-day sick visits, which gives us great peace of mind as parents. We’re very grateful to have such a reliable and compassionate pediatric practice nearby and would highly recommend to any family.

Avoid this place. The doctors are nice, but the billing department feels like a complete scam. We are on self-pay, and after almost every visit the billing codes somehow change and additional invoices are sent. At first you assume it might be a simple mistake, but this has happened during three out of our four visits. When we went back to the front desk, they even confirmed that the charges were incorrect, yet they said they could not adjust the bill themselves. Instead, you are forced to spend time on the phone arguing with the billing department to get it fixed. This is extremely frustrating and feels like a system designed to overcharge patients who are paying out of pocket. Until they fix their billing practices, I would strongly recommend avoiding this place.

We just had our first newborn checkup, and it went so well! Dr. Chen was incredibly attentive, answered all of our questions, and reassured us that everything looked great. She was so sweet and gentle with our baby girl, which meant a lot as first-time parents. The medical assistant and tech were also wonderful, kind, helpful, and made sure the visit felt easy rather than overwhelming. The front desk staff were equally great, the receptionist was friendly, welcoming, and had such a positive attitude. It really stood out compared to other places where customer service can feel rushed or unpleasant. Dr. Yabin Chen is a wonderful pediatrician. She is kind, patient, and truly attentive to both children and parents. She takes the time to listen carefully, explains everything clearly, and makes sure all questions are answered without rushing the visit. We really appreciate her professionalism and dedication, and we feel confident trusting her with our child’s care. Highly recommended!

The nurse was very sweet and helped to ease my daughter’s fears by giving her stuffed animal a “check up” and gave her lots of stickers afterwards. The Dr came in about 30 mins later, which was a little upsetting because I had to return to work and the appointment ran longer than I had hoped. However, Dr Chen was attentive and addressed our concerns. She gave us feedback and appropriate advice.
