Pauls Valley Health and Rehab

Mom has been here through the ownership change from Pauls Valley Care Center to Pauls Valley Health and Rehab and we can both tell that the management change is a night and day difference. Firstly, someone answers the phone within a ring or two when I call so I can tell that effort and training had an immediate effect. The attention to detail and care that mom receives now is also much more comprehensive. Staff is always very friendly and the nursing home always smells and looks clean, whereas that was not previously the case. I don't have enough good things to say about the new ownership here. Mom and I both highly recommend.

If you have a loved one needing skilled nursing please look into another facility if you can. If you are expecting communication about your loved one through out their stay and “rehab”, that doesn’t happen here. Never was I in communication with the doctor one or the rehab staff. I attempted to attend two doctor appointments there with my loved one and both were canceled last minute. I would call and get no updates. My loved one fell and the facility never informed me or took him to be checked out by the ER. My loved one told me a day after it happened. I was informed of my loved ones discharge 48 hours before they will be discharged and was told when I asked if this was their best policy and practice for discharging “it’s the state Medicare standard”. My father stayed here for a few days while awaiting a nursing home room in our town. If it was in our town we would have no desire to change. Very sweet staff and administrator who were so helpful and kind. My dad liked it there and so did we. Very clean and staff was always professional and sweet. Very helpful in assisting us with moving our dad. We are forever grateful. 💖💖💖

Since the change of ownership I have not seen what the other reviewers have complained about. There has been a 180 degree turnaround from what have been able to see since my mother in law has been here. I was asking the administration what the other reviewers who gave poor reviews about Pauls Valley Health & Rehab issue with the facility is. The vast majority is disgruntled employees who have an axe to grind, which makes sense to me as a small business owner. Just wanted to stick up for this facility as my experience has been wonderful!!

Went to see my Mother. She was dirty when I got there. I asked if she could be changed, and they said yes. A hour later, was told, they were cleaning someone else. After two hours my Mother asked us to leave, because she could not deal with it. She loves this place. My visit was cut short because my Mom was ashamed of the smell I'm sure. If this was the last time I saw my Mother, I would be very upset. Was upset anyway. If I was her, I wouldn't want to go on like that. This breaks my heart. She doesn't want to cause trouble, and lives it there, I'm sure because my Stepfather likes this center, I'm sure, because it's where his grandmother's house used to sit, and he carved on the front steps, and donated four of his carvings there, but I want my Mother clean.
