Palos Animal Hospital

Palos Animal Hospital has been absolutely wonderful. Dr. Sankey, in particular, was incredibly compassionate with my dog, who can be a bit neurotic and is especially afraid of men. Instead of rushing the exam, Dr. Sankey sat down on the floor with him, gave him time and space, and patiently earned his trust. By the end of the visit, they were genuinely friends — something I never expected and truly appreciated. The entire staff is kind, understanding, and clearly cares deeply about the animals they treat. The clinic is clean, well-run, and I never feel rushed during appointments. It means so much to have a veterinarian who treats not just the medical issue, but the whole animal. I can’t recommend Palos Animal Hospital highly enough.

Five stars isn't enough for the compassion and professionalism shown by Palos Animal Hospital staff. I was in a desperate situation: I had just been released from the hospital and the same day my dog’s health had declined and she needed end of life care. I called 10 local veterinary offices and was turned down by each and every one including by my own veterinary office that I have been going to for a few years. When my own vet wouldn't see me, this office stepped up and squeezed me in without hesitation. Despite being a new client, they treated me and my dog with the utmost dignity, compassion, and urgency. Dear Dr. Jeff and everyone at Palos AH, Thank you for being so attentive to my mommy while I’m feeling ruff at the moment. From helping her figure out what this gnarly thing on my side is as it seems to keep changing by the hour, to making sure I have the right medications to keep me comfy until I see a specialist, you’ve all made this stressful time much easier. I especially appreciate your patience with my diva-level flinching and my “donut of shame” fashion statement—not exactly my favorite accessory! I was really hoping for the one with sprinkles. You even recommended a specialist and helped mommy coordinate with my Auntie Kimmy to pick up my meds—just awesome! Your care, kindness, and understanding mean I can keep wagging my tail (and occasionally grumbling) while we navigate this

Edited: The staff at Palos Animal Hospital is truly exceptional! Dr. Turek and Dr. Thomas are my go-to veterinarians, and I can’t say enough wonderful things about them and the entire team. Everyone is always compassionate, professional, and attentive—from the front desk to the techs to the doctors. Recently, my dog Axel started limping, and Dr. Thomas was able to fit us in the very next day. Axel is a fearful dog and can be difficult to handle, but Dr. Thomas and the staff showed so much patience, care, and understanding. She took the time to explain his CCL injury in detail, review his x-rays with us, and go over every treatment option. It’s clear that she—and the entire Palos team—genuinely care about both pets and their people.

Can not say enough good things about Palos Animal hospital. This week my dog needed emergency surgery, and everything was so smooth and easy. Dr. Sankey originally treated and diagnosed my dog, and surgery was performed by Dr. Turek. Absolute professionals, that are kind and caring! Every team member I have had interactions with has been professional and friendly.
