Optum Urgent Care - Yorktown Heights

This place is absolute garbage, do not go here. Twice I tried coming here with my 68 year old mom who is on oxygen and has very limited mobility due to that and spinal issues, first time I thought I made an appointment online, turned out the appointment was for tomorrow and they were all booked up for the day, mind you we arrived early in the day. I then watched them turn away patient after patient as they came in for walk ins. We went to Northwell urgent care down the street after I made an appointment online in the Optum waiting room and was seen immediately. Seems Yorktown Optum urgent care has a creative definition of the word “urgent.” Second time I called early in the day and they said they’re all booked up for the day and can’t take any walk ins, basically told us good luck good by

Optum Yorktown Urgent Care is sunny and kind to their drop in patients, like myself. The waiting room is clean and the Nurses station is welcoming. The person registering patients made eye contact with me (the patient) within 7 seconds. He was attentive and present. The MD ( I think she was an MD) who treated me conveyed information I needed. She followed through with a a phone call later in the day. Lastly, the nurses station was warmly decorated for Halloween. All and all, Optum Urgent Care Yorktown appears to be a good Team of people working together -no matter what their title- for the patients.

Went to Urgent Care and was very satisfied with the care that I received. The Dr was great. He was experienced, empathetic and respectful. He asked all of the right questions and diagnosed my problem correctly. The staff was also very nice and considerate. The office was clean. I was very satisfied.

This is not actually an urgent care. They are not accredited to file as an urgent care. So expect a big bill with the insurance company's hands cut off... At least if you have Oxford. I have reached out to Optom and they actually advised me themselves not to use that location if I want an urgent care facility. Because after your visit it will always get charged as a regular visit requiring you to pay lots out of pocket. I was promised a call to sort this out. Now weeks later... nothing but an empty promise...

The Reception staff were extremely kind and helpful. The nurse was very nice. Ellen, the nurse practitioner was absolutely excellent and took the time to have a discussion with me about various medication options and follow up.
