Optum Urgent Care - Poughkeepsie

I have visited Optum Urgent Care several times, and am very impressed with the superb service and professionalism. The staff are careful listeners, and with a decent sense of humor. Appointments are easily made and waiting time is short. With my last bout of flu, I was provided imaging services (the radiologist came to the office, despite the Thanksgiving holiday), together with several prescriptions. Most of mt symptoms disappeared within two days. I highly recommend.

I walked in at about 320pm with ear pain and their systems were down. They called me in about an hour waiting in the lobby. They put me in a room and had me over about 30-40 minutes. It was about 4:52pm when I decided to walk out of the room and ask when I was going to be seen since they close at 5. One of the ladies said someone was going to see me shortly. Finally, after waiting for so long a nurse practitioner came in and saw me. She told me my ear had some swelling. I asked if it was the beginning of an ear infection. She said yes, an outer ear one. She said she was going to prescribe ear drops. I asked if there was an alternative to ear drops since I have been prescribed Amoxicillin in the past for an ear infection. She said no. Easy to book online. Arrived 15 minutes early and was taken in quickly. Immediately a nurse came in and then the PA 10 minutes later. Aimee Henson was good and she mentioned they are trying to cut down the waiting time before being seen. Hoping Optum can continue this moving forward. All staff was nice that I came into contact with. I will give them another try!

I received quality care during my visit. The staff was very professional and caring. The wait time was ok, with the staff letting me know when I would be seen. A great improvement from the last time I visited around 2 years ago. I was very satisfied with the service I received.

I have needed to use Optum's walk-in clinic several times over the years. The experience has been consistently good. Providers at the clinic are highly competent, and always demonstrate respect and humanity as well.
