Optum Medical Center Point Neurology

I saw Dr McDonald years ago (chronic lifelong migraines) He was dismissive, uniformed and actually belligerent. At the time Dr. Grabert was still the pediatric neurologist (my daughter inherited the migraines at a very young age, just like me) HE was fantastic, and I wished HE could have been MY physician. I got around seeing McDonald for years by requesting his PA at the time. Alas she moved away. I have a new neurologist and am very happy with her. I will never forget the joy in his voice when he said my MRI showed brain damage. ( I later found our most migraine sufferers have this) look elsewhere if you want an informed compassionate physician.

I am very sad to have to write this review. My main issue with optum is the lack of kindness from the providers and the unwillingness to help out with getting medications approved by insurance. I went in to get Botox, and the entire time, the provider was apathetic to the fact that I almost passed out from the pain, and was rude for the rest of the treatment. It felt as if I was an inconvenience for her because I could not continue on right away. I have now switched neurologists, and the empathy and kindness from my new providers are night and day.

Decided i really need to share my story. Dr. Mcdonal doesnt take stuff seriously. I have Epilepsy. I had gotten pregnant and he was Horrible! He doubled my med dose and i had toxic side effects my entire pregnancy. I explained to him 1000 times my symptoms! Literally i couldnt see! Triple blurry vision n no depth perception or perfials and tremors, n jerks, large easy bruising to my legs. The vision was the worst and i literally couldnt function or even walk it was very scary! I had my baby and the side effects kicked in even worse 30mins after having her. I literally couldnt see or take care of my baby for 3 months. My husband recommend i go against mcdonald and go back to my pre pregnancy dose! I did and what ya know, it alllll went away. Fast forward. I did tons of research thru fda an

So unhappy with the communication level these doctors have. I went in August to see a orthopedic for my arm that took 7 months for me to get in to see and then get sent to PT that did not help. Called for 4 weeks before I heard back from them to schedule another appointment and got in a week later to see his assistant which got me to getting a MRI done. So got that done and the doctor has had my results back for a week now and still hasn’t called me to discuss the results. And to this day I have never been given anything for the sever pain that I am in on a daily basis and can barely move my arm any more.

I have been seeing Ms. Baker-Newsholme who is fantastic, but no longer able to offer botox treatment for my migraines as the administrative group decided that they would cut this highly effective treatment. I have been on a number of treatments that just don't work as efficiently and effectively as the botox. I am very disappointed with the administrative decision process.
