I moved recently from San Diego to North County and I am so glad I found Oceanside Modern Dentistry and Dr. Ybarra and her excellent staff ! I am very particular about my Dr's and Dentists. Dr Ybarra is very skilled and serious about her work. She helped me with everything I needed, (same day crown, 2 fillings) and lots of helpful information for moving forward and taking care of my teeth. She also has the most up to date treatments I have seen and the office is very modern and clean. The front desk was also able to schedule me for a deep cleaning shortly after which is really needed after moving and being in between dentists. I initially came here for a cleaning and was told I needed fillings. The front desk quoted me $700+, saying my insurance didn’t cover composite fillings. I delayed treatment to save the money, only to return and have another staff member tell me my insurance actually covered it and there was no cost. After the filling, I experienced severe throbbing pain in the tooth. I returned to the office where an X-ray was taken, but Dr. Ybarra said she “didn’t think” a nerve had been hit and I received little explanation or guidance. I was told someone would follow up with the X-ray results, but no one ever called back. I want to take a moment to share my bad experience with this dental office. I was recommended by my insurance to have Root Canal with this place in June 2025. After I got X ray check, I was told that not only root canal, also need to replaced my bridges. The estimate bill will be around $5000 with their discount . They kept telling that I wasn’t eligible to use my insurance, but the truth was I’ve been with my insurance for several years with PPO. They kept fooling me that they would contact my insurance and calling me back, but my insurance and I never heard anything from this dental office. I recently went in office i really liked the front and the dental assistants were extremely nice and helpful. The bad review goes to the doctor she is unprofessional for keeping me waiting on the chair more than usual. The so called “manager” will push you to do treatment she kept looking up and down at me like if I could not afford the treatment that is extremely unprofessional do better on who you choose as a manager. Will NEVER be coming back.

I found Oceanside Modern Dentistry on google after deciding to change from my last Delta Dental HMO dentist who I was very unhappy with. I am extremely happy with Dr. Alyssa and her staff who are always kind and professional. And, I am very impressed with the quality of dental work I have received there. The facility is modern and clean and offers same day crowns and a number of other services. I have a heart condition and I like the fact the facility has an AED on site and the staff is clearly prepared in the event of a medical emergency. Ocean Modern Dentistry is conveniently located off the 76 near the Jefferson exit. If you are looking for a new in-network dentist, I highly recommend making an appointment at Oceanside Modern Dentistry.
