Referred by primary because primary doesn't see children under 17. Called the main office to schedule a new patient pedi apt. The lady was totally cool until she asked if the child being scheduled was my first and I answered no? My other child is over 17 and sees primary?? We have commercial insurance....She immediately said they weren't taking any new patients. I asked "out of all of the providers listed, not one is taking new patients?" She quickly said 'No sorry." Flash forward to having someone else call and ask if they're taking new patients....and answered no to other children...they were more than willing to schedule them. This practice will eject all patients who do not adhere to what the “CDC recommends,” even the patients have genetic mutations KNOWN to cause birth defects, injury, or death if you continue to roll up your child’s sleeve. It doesn’t matter if your child is currently suffering from those exact birth defects either: you MUST comply with their office policy or be REMOVED, as *WE WERE*. Meanwhile, this office continuously failed to diagnose *MULTIPLE OBVIOUS* pathologies and other medical conditions that, in our case, required ongoing neurosurgical and orthopedic interventions. Here is a picture of my son, who Elizabeth Butler MD, at Ocean State Pediatrics FAILED because she, and this whole office, are COMPLETELY UNCONCERNED with the health of their patients!! It’s almost as if it’s by design.

When I tell you I am completely obsessed with my children’s pediatrician, Dr. Howard Silversmith, I am not even exaggerating. From my very first visit with him as an inexperienced 24 year old mom of a few day old baby almost 16 years ago, to today, a mom of 4 kids, he has made me feel so confident and empowered in my parenting role. His bedside manner is impeccable, he never makes you feel rushed or like an inconvenience. He’s thorough and polite and makes sure he explains everything to his little patients, even if they don’t understand him yet due to being a baby. I absolutely struck gold with Dr. Silversmith and when the day comes where all my kids are old enough to move on to an adult primary care physician I am actually going to sob. I have been with Dr Noel since she was across the way. My son is 26 and my daughter just turned 18. She has been nothing short of amazing. She was great with both of my Children. I have never had any negative experiences with her or any of her colleagues. Dr Silversmitth was great with my son. I apologize for not remembering everyone’s name but my daughter has seen one of the other female physicians, she was also wonderful!! They are very discreet and non judgmental in dealing with delicate issues. Dr Noel is very informative and stern when there is a health issue. I am truly going to miss her and I wanted to thank her and everyone else including the girls in the front!!! It’s been a long journey thank you all again!!
