I recently had the pleasure of being treated by Dr Rick J. Berrios at Ocean Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and I couldn't be happier with the care I received. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome and comfortable. Dr Rick is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate, taking the time to explain every step of the procedure and answer all my questions. The surgery itself was seamless, and the recovery process has been much smoother than I anticipated, thanks to Dr Rick's expertise and clear post-operative instructions. It's clear that patient care and satisfaction are their top priorities. If you're looking for a skilled and caring oral and maxillofacial surgeon, I highly recommend Dr Rick and their team. I came to Dr.Berrios for a follow up/checkup after getting a tooth extracted and an implant placed. I was worried because I’d noticed the area around the implant was red, swollen, and would occasionally bleed (this was about 10 days after the initial surgery). I voiced my concerns to Dr.Berrios and he completely ignored them and waved me off, saying everything was fine. He even went on to list the symptoms of an infection, and 3 of the 4 symptoms he mentioned were things I said I’d experienced. Still he waved me off and sent me home. I knew something was wrong so I went to another surgeon and got a second opinion and sure enough, just by looking at the area for 2 seconds she was able to tell it was in fact infected and prescribed me antibiotics. Dr. Shaw is a true professional, will walk you through all options after a thorough exam. All work done was quick, painless, and a reasonable cost. I cannot recommend them more.

I was referred to Dr. Shaw by my regular dentist for oral surgery. I could not have been better referred. Dr. Shaw made me feel like i was a long time client of his and his skills backed up his chair side manner. An apparent true professional in his trade.
