Oakland Vet Hospital

My husband and I have been bringing our dachshund to Dr. Kang for over a year now. He has helped us with our puppy in many ways. The service is outstanding and personal. He and his wife take the time to answer any questions and concerns about our dog. I never feel rushed. Phone calls and emails are answered almost immediately. Our dachshund LOVES going to the vet and it’s nice to have people that truly care about our pet. Rates are very reasonable and we know it’s not about making money as they truly care for your animal and want the best for them. You will not find a better place than Oakland Animal Hospital.

Be warned!! They discriminate against low income people. They made it very clear today that they need regular patronage or they didn't need my business. If you don't have money to pay for the vet to NOT treat your pet - on a regular basis - go elsewhere. Went there for years to get my dog chiropractic adjustments - $50 each, (monthly in the beginning,) vaccinations etc. Those adjustments were wonderful for my pet. But when it came to dealing with a hot spot type problem on my pups leg, I went 2 specific times to get it treated, buying the antibiotics and topical creams, and talked with the vet about it at another appointment where he did nothing. We did a home visit for our goats and they were very accommodating, knowledgeable and thorough. They were on time and spent extra time with us. Answered all of our questions and explained everything very well. Very reasonably priced and they got us on their schedule in about a week from when I called them. Highly recommend.

Vet lied to me multiple times. Would not listen to me, kept pushing to sell me flea medications and allergy tests. I finally asked for a specific steroid for my dog, which they said they gave him. I called today to ask for a refill and they said they never gave him that medication but gave him something else instead and refused to do any follow-up service due to I had appointment with my regular vet. Does not care about animals or treatment of a pet in pain and suffering, I didn't need to pay you over $100 to be told to give my dog benadryl. If you care about your pet DO NOT VISIT this facility.

Update 2022- I had my files transfered to Bailey Vet clinic in Roseburg. They are the the only emergency vet in an hour radius, but you have to be an established client to go there. (Just a healthy pet exam will do.) So I called Oakland back to get my dog looked at for non emergency care, and they rufused to book an appointment with us because we went to Baileys once for a healthy pet exam. Im sure its more to do with the review left here, so obviously I was very wrong about this clinic. If you disagree with anything or refuse to do a service that isnt necessary at the moment, they will no longer see your pet. Ive changed my review to 1 stars. I used to be a Dr.s assistand at a clinic in Bend so I do know a bit kore about vet care then the general public. Dr. K is not a good vet to go to.
