Oakland Smile Station

I brought my son here to have his tongue tie fixed. I was given exercises to complete at home, which I did. When I brought my son in for his follow up appointment, I was told everything looks great and healed nicely. My baby continued to have issues that I believe were related to the tongue tie. I took my baby to a different specialist and found that the tongue tie did not heal nicely and a lot of scar tissue was building up and affecting my baby. I was also informed of a lip tie that was missed by the dentist.

I've been going to the Smile Station since I was a little girl and fully recommend them to any parent, 10/10 times. I would take my kids here. Dr. Weeman did a PHENOMENAL job. I am very weird/scared when it comes to dental appointments because I have extremely sensitive teeth and he was so patient and gentle and extremely good at his job. I went to see him to get my Invisalign brackets removed, since I barely ever wore them or put them in. I got them years ago by a different doctor in Delaware when I went to school there. Dr Weeman was so communicative about which brackets were left and how much longer it would take. I didn't feel a thing. He was so patient with me. The front desk is amazing as well! Dr. Tauriello is not only an excellent dentist (knowledgeable and skilled) but also a genuinely caring and kind human being. She helped my mom with a difficult situation in a way that made us feel like family. We are so truly grateful to have the opportunity to be cared for by one of the best dentists ever.

My 3 year old son visited the office for a regular 6 month cleaning, previously been to the office once before but was apprehensive and felt a bit scared. The hygienist did not create a warm, welcoming environment. There are tvs in the exam rooms, she did not ask to put on a favorite show for him. I explained he had a difficult morning, but there was minimal effort placed in communicating with him on his level and making him feel comfortable. He did well with the first part of the exam, but became extremely scared for the remainder with the electric toothbrush and dentist. I was given the option of them just “getting him through” the exam or trying another time. I would not subject any scared child to “getting him through” a dental exam at 3 years old. Told me my daughter's tooth has to be extracted. That would require a bridge to be installed later on. Then slipped a consent form among other papers for me to sign stating that extraction is my decision. A professional who doesn't take a responsibility for his decisions is not a professional. Incompetent staff sent wrong images to another dental office where my daughter actually got a crown instead of the tooth being extracted. Charges additional fee for nitrous. Shady practices, incompetent staff, stay away from this office if you need anything more serious done than just a cleaning.
