Oak Lea

Excellent across the board. The care teams are competent and friendly. The case managers are thorough and clear. It’s clean and cheerful, and the food is great.

My husband came to oaklea from the hospital. He had pneumonia and copd. He started running a fever and coughing. We were worried he was getting pneumonia again. All they did was give him Tylenol and kept saying the dr would look at him when he comes in. He started running a fever Friday and finally we were told the the earliest the dr would be in was Monday. I really have my doubts that they even read his history because when they questions some things about him, I had to exain to them exactly what he went thru the 2 weeks he was in the hospital

I am only rating oak lea low not because of our experience with my father-in-law but because of the social worker. My father-in-law was in rehab he had been diagnosed with dementia and his stay there was excellent. They took excellent care of him while he was there, my complaint is he stayed for a total of 21 days and they said they could not progress any further with him so Medicare was going to not pay any longer. The social worker Monica did not offer any solutions for us other than sending him home with a baby monitor of all things, when a family is in need of solutions I thought that was the job of a social worker was to figure out other facilities that he might be able to go to, we had to figure out on our own that Harrisonburg rehab could take him in and further his rehab not sure

My grandma is currently here to get well enough to go home from the hospital. I visited her a week ago and also today and she's feeling much better. The staff have always been very helpful and kind even as short staffed as they are.
