Northwestern Medicine Internal Medicine Loop South Clark

I went to this practice for 15+ years. It was very convenient as it was just a block from my office. Earlier this year (2023) my primary care physician left the practice, moving out of state. Despite the fact that the remaining doctors were all accepting new patients, I was told that *none* of the doctors at the 20 S. Clark location would accept any of the departing doctor's former patients, including myself. As none of the other NMPG locations are even remotely near my home or office, that just left me out in the cold to find a new doctor elsewhere. To treat long time patients of their practice in this manner is really inexcusable.

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Cho Steinberg for the last 3 years. She is calm, listens to all of our concerns, advocates for our health and gives us peace of mind in her exams and feedback. Additionally, Torrance makes the bloodwork and lab process quick and comfortable. It feels challenging to find providers like this, I recommend this office if you’re looking for an internal medicine doctor who will listen to your concerns and provide excellent bedside manner.

Do not waste your time with doctor Sam T. Hung. I've had better experiences at an urgent care or cvs minute clinic. He prescribed me antibiotics without knowing for sure if I had strep. Told me in 2-3 days he would call with results and let me know whether to keep taking them or not? I NEVER heard back from this office and it has been two weeks. I took matters into to my own hands within 3 days of now follow up response. Visited another doctor not with Northwestern and I was actually diagnosed with a different, more extreme virus and the antibiotics made my symptoms even worse. I've been down for about 2 weeks now with an itchy rash covering my whole body. This guy wants to get you in and out and does not listen to you when you are speaking. Terrible experience. My health insurance [medicaid] assigned me to Dr. Esrig at Northwestern and when I went to make my appointment, I was denied. I was told they don’t accept my insurance for “new” patients, just established ones. They then went on to say, “we only service Medicaid patients who were on a different insurance but lost their job and ended up on Medicaid.” UH YEAH, ITS A PANDEMIC AND 30million are on unemployment now. My name was also already in their system because I HAD been their before with different insurance. They just don’t want to serve poor people. WHAT A JOKE.

Top of the line testing/treatments, top of the line doctors, top of the line facilities and very flexible resources for patients. Thank you for not making a trip to the doctor a hassle.
