NorthSide Hospital

Wanted to share what a caring and devoted ICU nurse "Amber" is. Amber is a true show of care, and it's very clear that she loves her job. She took great care of my wife in ICU room #8 today. My wife was more than happy with her attentive care. My wife said she took care of her like she was family. Thank you, Amber. Your love and care goes a long way.

In 2019 I had an emergency surgery, at a different hospital, when I was out of town, the day I came back home from that insane experience (3 days post op) I ended up spiking a high fever. My mom drove me to Northsides ER and I was immediately admitted. I spent a week in the hospital before we had any answers, my infectious disease doctor and surgeon finally saw a tiny little spot on my CT scan, at first they wanted to do a needle biopsy, but my surgeon had a gut feeling and decided to change it to an exploratory surgery… so glad she decided to do this because when I was opened up she found a massive infection and dead tissue the other hospital had left in me. When my fiancee and I were staying in Suches, he had a medical emergency and needed to be taken to the ER. I had to drive 15 minutes to get cell service to find a local hospital. After driving another 30 minutes, we found the facility had been permanently closed. I stopped at a gas station and asked where the closest available hospital that was actually open was, and was directed to Northside Forsyth. I helped him into the ER and parked. By the time I got back to the ER, he had already been triaged and put in a room due to the blood pressure crisis he was experiencing. After consulting with the Doc, he was admitted. They actually end up keeping him for a week, getting the medication right to control his blood pressure. EVERY single person who we had interaction with was absolutely amazing.

I have a possible sprained or broken ankle. I came from a doctor in Duluth who referred me to any Northside hospital to walk in and get x-rays since they don’t have a machine in the office. I chose this location in Forsyth County because the wait times were better than at other Northside hospitals and about the same distance. I was astounded by the rude behavior and the misdirection I received upon just trying to walk into the facility, with a mask on and I had not spoken to anyone yet because I was not even to the sidewalk yet! The volunteer of the Cancer Center yelled at me as I stepped onto the sidewalk going towards out patient radiology that door was locked and I had to go through registration, I asked if that took me to walk ins for x-ray and she yelled “yes”.
