Northern Dauphin Nursing & Rehabilitation

Care started off great however the nurse to patient ratio is way too low. I checked in on my Mom and found her laying in bed glassy eyed, in pain with an unaddressed ruptured appendix, raging infection, plummeting blood pressure. When she got to the ER the following day, her white blood cell count was 4 times normal. Her blood pressure was 84/39. UNACCEPTABLE

My wife has been a resident since April and suffers from Huntington's Disease. They were one of few facilities willing to take her. I know she is a difficult patient to handle, given her limitations. The staff with whom my family and I are interacting have been extremely attentive, compassionate and caring. Health care is a difficult business. My daughter and two of my nieces are employed in health care & I know the staffing challenges they and all medical facilities face. I'm not aware of Northern Dauphin's resident to "nursing personnel" ratio; however, I know the employees are working as hard as they can & I'm satisfied with the care they are providing for my wife.

My dad has been a resident here for a few years and my grandmother was a resident before him. The staff are extremely hard-working, caring and respectful. The activities are well-planned and varied - my dad really enjoys them. The administrators are organized and efficient. My family is very grateful for the Premier.

I do entertainment at various nursing and retirement facilities as part of a duo. I have seen the good and the bad. I really enjoy when we entertain the folks at Premier at Susquehanna because the staff is always helpful and pleasant. They interact very well with the residents, which is always nice to see. They go out of their way to include the residents in the fun of the moment. The facility is well kept and located in a beautiful countryside setting. This is a great facility.
