Dr. McGowan is a very good doctor. Receptionists are helpful.

Dr. McGowan is the best around. I've had many strokes and he has gone above and beyond to help me as his patient. I wish I could bring him to Kentucky with me. If you want excellent care go to him! Never had an issue paying my bills either. The staff as also been so kind to me. I guess you get what you give.

Dr McGowan is one of the very best physicians I've ever known. He is very understanding, compassionate and helpful 😊. After moving away, I have come back to Illinois specifically to see him because I find that he will go above and beyond to help his patients, which I realize is a very rare quality in a doctor. 💜 On the other hand, since he began his own practice, the new office staff does not seem to compliment the doctor. Yesterday, I was turned down for my appointment because I could not pay my balance in full. When I asked why I had a balance, I was specifically and firmly told to either pay in full or I could not see the doctor. No explanation was offered when I mentioned to the staff I did not understand why I had a balance on my account. Instead, I was told with firm attitude to pay

I was one of the early patients at the current practice. It pains me to leave this review because Dr. McGowan himself is an outstanding physician with great bedside manner and an effective diagnostic approach. However I have tried three times in the past month to make an appointment, twice by phone and once through the portal. No one has bothered to call or message me back, not once. What's the point of the doctor being outstanding if there's no way to see him.

I rally enjoy this place because they provide round the clock care. You can't get you doctor in office hours, send an email or leave a message and they'll follow up. I also appreciate that they take you seriously when you say you're not feeling well or something is off. Billing is easy and appointments are readily available.
