New Market Animal Hospital

Had to rush my Luna Boona here, then I took my other cat Lily Billie there. The receptionist, technicians, and Dr. Hopkins were wonderful. My ladies were treated very kindly here. They will be returning here if needed. Such a nice view coming from Taneytown, Md.

I made the appointment here as opposed to my usual vet because it was closer to home and reviews were great. I made it clear on the phone that this was a sick visit and I am choosing the location to not torture my sick cat with a long car ride. I called when I arrived and asked if we could go straight back to a room so I didn’t have to torture my sick cat with walking past a dog. They said yes. I got to the front glass door and saw a dog in the tiny waiting room and I froze, figuring I’d wait till the dog was at least off to the side and there wasn’t a bunch of people in the waiting room. My doggo recently had a cyst removed. They initially attempted to double charge me for bloodwork, then they removed it from the quote; however, that is mild compared to what they did to her. They completed a severely jagged, 1 level suture job on Bea. It looks like a mangled dumpling. I took Bea back to the group a week later because I started to smell a sickly sweet smell coming from her incision. First their nurse questioned why they had given us the bare minimum for pain and antibiotics meds. Then the doctor, not the one who completed the surgery, began to blame me for the condition of her incision. They blamed the type of cone used and insisted Bea had somehow interfered with the incision site. They claimed to had cleaned around the incision site. I asked about an area around the sutur

I used this vet when living here in 23 and 24 and was pleased with everyone working here. I moved away for 10 months. Since returning, I have noticed their front office staff, with the exception of Lydia, is consitently reluctant to be proactive. Something as simple as asking them to fax a prescription involved a lengthy back and forth with Isabella before relenting to faxing prescription, which would have taken less time than the exchange we went through on the phone. Something is wrong in the customer service end of this vet. The doctors are good here, but they have better customer service than the front desk. Dr. Chand saved my dog. We had been told she would die from the tumor on her liver. Other surgeons quoted $10k or more with the surgery buying us very little time. Dr. Chand's office did the surgery for a fraction of the cost, with much more hands on approach. Despite the surgery being complicated, he managed to have a successful outcome and worked with us EVERY DAY of her recovery and for several weeks after. The techs, front desk staff, and Dr. Chand were very competent, had great bedside manner, and really cared about us and our dog, Lulu.
