NE Louisiana Veterans Home

The Director and those that are in charge of the daily operations of this facility need to get out of their offices and walk the floors and inspect what they expect. Taking your two dogs to work and caring for them in your office appears to be more important than the Residents. It doesn’t take much to fix what is very broken in this facility. Perhaps walk into the rooms to look at the condition. The outside appearance of the NE La Veterans Home is very nice, the inside of the facility is also nice. However, the care is below par! Our Veterans deserve better!! Please do better!!

Family needs to watch over their love ones carefully. They allowed a relative toe nails grow to the back of his toes. When he passed away, they had "lost" his motorized chair. Some of his other items disappeared as well. No way to treat the ones that fought for us.

Although I believe the majority of staff is caring, the turnover is so high, the training is poor and the oversight is so lax that the result is poor care and many mistakes and omissions. My mother was there for 2 months from April 2018. From day one, there were problems. 1) She was admitted into a dirty room (the former occupant's teeth were still in the dirty medicine cabinet). And, this was an isolation room so should have been cleaned and sanitized more so than regular rooms. The next room she went into was dirty as well. 2)The afternoon that she was admitted, I was told they had all of the medications she was taking on hand and we went over them individually to make sure but I was called at 10pm that night because they didn't and I drove back to the facility in order for her to ge

This place is a nightmare. They don't care about the patients..our awesome warriors..the rudest, meanest people I have ever met running a Home. They actually scheduled a time when I could visit my former husband who had zero visitors coming to see him. I finally decided that all the hatefulness they dealt me was not worth going through one false accusation after another .I stopped going, the whole experience was unbelievable!

WARNING DISTURBING CONTENT: I am speaking out after much controversy and now being BANNED from seeing my Grandfather because I reported on LIVE AND DEAD ants in his drinking water, left soiled and in dirty clothes, not bathed, not getting the medical attention when he needs it and I could go on and on. However I have videos, pictures and phone conversations proving horrendous treatment to our Veteran’s. I initially emailed the Louisiana Dept of Veteran’s Affairs and went straight up the chain. After the Director of the home was looked into by Baton Rouge I mysteriously hear from my uncle, the curator of the estate to whom I have only seen at the home twice in over 10 years, banned me from seeing my grandfather with threat of arrest. Please help me expose this facility for what it is...an
