Nationwide Children's Hospital Emergency Room

Currently waiting to see a doctor after 3 hours of being here. My son, was bit by his babysitters dog while me and dad was at work. We rushed him to the emergency side as he has a puncture in his wrist as well as a slit of skin on the back of his wrist. It’s purple and swollen. It’s bleeding. After 3 hours we’ve finally been out into a room. Just for 2 doctors to come in, ben his wrist then say they’re gonna get an xray & left the room. Left my 10 month old son to cry and scream. Haven’t offered no pain medicine for him. Thankfully I carry infant Tylenol in his bag and was able to give him some myself! This whole place is worthless. What is the point of having an EMERGENCY SIDE & yet the real emergencies don’t get taken seriously.

My 15 month old fell and split his forehead open while playing in the early morning. Nationwide Children’s did an excellent job at making him comfortable and doing a precise stitching job which will reduce his potential scarring. They comforted him with diluted juice and graham crackers afterwards. The wait was about 2 hours to be seen, which was less than we expected for emergency care. The staff was really friendly and warm. I appreciate having such a qualified facility nearby!

2 stars ONLY because most of the staff I encountered were nice. To the hospital’s board, do something better to retain or gain your staff. I know an ER visit is long, however when you’re sitting in the waiting room for 2 hours and haven’t even been triaged yet, while others who arrived well after you have already been triaged by a nurse and back out to wait for an actual room, that’s an issue. Especially when it’s for a baby who won’t keep anything down. I took my son and left. I’ll be calling his doctors office when they open in 6 hours now.

Unless your child is in their death throes DO NOT go to Nationwide Children's Emergency Center. As just about every review on Google reviews that has left comments will say, it is about 4-5 hour wait. My Story: - **0 hours** I checked my infant son in with a fever and within 10 minutes a nurse took his vitals (so far so good). - **3 hours** I see two different families that were there before me leave without receiving care, in particular one of them said "good luck" as they left (this can't be good). - **3.5 hours** I ask a receptionist what the wait time is, they mention they are not allowed to give that information out, what?!?! (I do not want an exact time, just ballpark, if I had known it was >4 hour wait time I would have gone somewhere else) - **4 hours** I finally get called to go

We come here with 40 days bay girl because she throw up every time she drink formula and facial rashes. They put us in family waiting room for last 3 hours. It's really tough for mom who had c-section recently and still don't know how long we need to wait in waiting room before getting it. They don't have formula that she drink at home too. No one come to see her yet. They keep saying no room if I go out and ask them. I don't know why they don't think throwing everything newborn drink is not serious. I don't recommend here. I know they don't care about the reviews, but I am writing it for other parents.
