This Hospital needs so many renovations and the bedside manner needs to be adjusted with some of the nurses and staff. My dad laid in his own urine for hours and no one did anything until I bothered the staff. The rooms are really nasty and DESPERATELY need updating. Whoever owns this hospital NEEDS to make repairs. Patients deserve a better space to heal and get well. And on top of everything else, the staff has to keep borrowing machines/equipments from one patient’s room to give to another patient!!!! In So disappointed in the conditions and procedures of Nassau University Medical Center. If it wasn’t so close to home and he wasn’t about to be discharged, I would transfer my father.

I was supposed to get my brain surgery done here before they transferred me to another hospital instead. I stayed here for about three days. It's an okay place. In my experience, the neurology team and ER staff were good and took my concerns seriously. The neurosurgeon was very professional, honest, and great at explaining things. However, the meals they served felt like punishment. I would say that the food tasted like it was smuggled out of the correctional center nearby, but the correctional center is probably more merciful. Some of the other ER patients will have you questioning reality, like the random guy who tried to spoon feed me vegetables in the waiting room(☹️), or the woman who started rapping about how much she hated working in a daycare. From the very beginning, she made what could have been a stressful and intimidating experience feel calm, manageable, and even reassuring. I am writing to formally document and express concern regarding my visit today with Dr. Dawn Williamson, MD. During my appointment, Dr. Williamson stated that Urgent Care sent me to the hospital “not because anything was wrong, but because they didn’t want to deal with me.” I found this comment extremely dismissive and inappropriate, especially given that I am currently experiencing significant pain and visible bruising across my body. Additionally, Dr. Williamson stated that I do not have Lupus, despite having previously been diagnosed by another physician. She further implied that I “self-diagnosed” myself. This statement was both inaccurate and deeply concerning, as my diagnosis was made by a medical professional. She also suggested that I may have “something else,” but did not clarify
