Nancy Gum DDS MSD

I had her as my orthodontist when I was a kid. This was over a decade ago. I am writing this review now because I still think there is utility in sharing my experience. Dr. Gum extended my time with braces far beyond what was necessary, and didn't even do a good job with them. There were often sharp wires in my mouth that would cause me a lot of pain, and the brackets kept coming unglued. She was also not very compassionate or empathetic towards me, braces are painful and I was quite young so it would have been nice if she had been. She lost her temper at me once, I don't remember the reason why but I do remember how it made me feel. Looking back I realize how unprofessional that was. Dr. Gum and her team are incredible! I always feel very comfortable in her office. Dr Gum is thorough and always takes the time to explain my treatment. My smile has never looked better! I would highly recommend!

Every appointment with Dr.Gum was a nightmare. They would rush me into the chair, barely explain what they were doing, and then crank my braces so tight I couldn’t even eat for days. Once, they left a wire sticking out that cut my cheek the entire week, and when I went back to get it fixed, they just shrugged and told me to “get used to it.”

Dr. Nancy Gum is simply outstanding! She’s a true expert in her craft and a great communicator. She combines expert knowledge with a warm, calming approach that made me feel completely comfortable throughout my entire treatment. She thoroughly explained all my options, ensuring I understood every step. The office is welcoming as well. I highly recommend Dr. Nancy to anyone seeking top-tier orthodontic care in the South Bay.
