MUSC Health Black River Medical Center

The doctors and front staff are always nice and go the extra mile, but the nurses or staff in the back were gossiping about a patient, judging her for her condition and cussing. Wow . It makes me afraid to be open with them because they were just talking loudly about people and talking down. Sad

So my mom was seen at MUSC in Cades, ealier that day. Hours after leaving she started feeling bad and started acting incoherent, itchy and had difficulty breathing so we called the ambulance, they took her back to Cades ER. When I went to check on her and ask questions about her care, and asked what was she given earlier at the hospital.. things took an unexpected turn. She felt like she may have been given something she’s allergic to, so I started asking the nurse for clarification. Instead of answering, he tried to dismiss me. They gave my mom amoxicillin after she had told them she was allergic to penicillin!! When I mentioned that I’m a nurse, his response was, “Not dressed like that.” I explained that I was on my way out and dressed for Halloween, but that what I’m wearing has nothin

While this was not how I would have liked to meet the nurses and doctor, I’m so thankful our car accident happened out here in this small town. Courtney and Megan are angels on earth. The details don’t matter, what does is that they went above and beyond for my family in a horrible situation. All the way from Oregon, they made sure we were taken care of. The whole staff were absolutely amazing. We are all alive, banged up but alive. I will never be able to thank everyone enough. They handled my non-verbal autistic niece with grace and understanding. Thank you, All!

my 3 year old son has been sick for going on 3 weeks now, he was diagnosed with viral pneumonia today, the doctor tried to give my child a steroid shot 3 different times after I had already told him no because he just had a steroid shot on the 12th of this month & his pediatrician stated it is not safe for a pediatric to be given more than 1 steroid shot a month. I asked to be transferred to McLeod Pediatric Hospital & the doctor told me there was “no medical indication” to do so. how is there no medical indication when my child has been sick for going on 3 weeks and has PNEUMONIA! I will say I have had a great experience here before with a different doctor, but the doctor we seen tonight was trash.

I see some bad reviews on here, but in my experience I was very very satisfied with the patient care. I had a carabiner completely stuck inside of my finger. This hospital staff was very kind and we all laughed together. The hospital staff had great pre planning on how to remove the carabiner from my finger. After an XRAY and some pain management, the doctor carefully assessed my finger and determined a good plan on removing it. In less than 10 seconds it was out of my finger with no complications. They made sure I was taken care of and sent me hope with very detailed instructions on how to treat the injury. I work in the medical field and have dealt with many hospital staffs and I can easily say this was one of the nicest ER staff I have experienced. Very satisfied with their performance.
