MUSC Health Ashley River Tower - ART

I checked in today for a procedure and had to stay overnight for recovery. I'm here now. It is 3:00 am and I can't sleep so thought I'd write this live review. Just wanna say the staff where I am is great. They are prompt to answer my calls for assistance. So a big thumbs up to them. But there are other things I need to mention that are not so great. A big reason I can't sleep is the design of the room I am in. I would like to beat up the architect!! It has no doors, just curtains so the noise level is not conducive to getting a restful sleep. PLUS, there is a huge fluorescent light staring me right in the face! There are curtains on the entrance to this cubby I'm in, but for some completely stupid reason they have netting for the top three feet so the light can shine into my eyes. There

The doctors and staff were amazing but I do not find it appropriate or professional for the nursing staff to come into the patients room “when they are bored” as one nurse said or to come in when they feel like it to ask for and eat the patients snacks and food. We were there for an extended amount of time waiting for a transplant.

The Staff here are amazing! They are friendly and very helpful. Once you get over the fact that being here usually means you are having a rough go of it, this place really is solid. The views from the rooms are amazing as well. Later I might some photos of the nighttime skyline as well. It is easy to let yourself relax and almost forget that you are actually still at a Hospital.

This is the most painful review I will ever write. My daughter passed away after receiving care at MUSC, and based on my experience and what I witnessed, I believe mistakes were made by the staff that contributed to her death. No parent should ever have to question the care their child receives in a hospital, but that has become my reality. Throughout this devastating experience, I felt ignored, dismissed, and left without answers. The communication was poor, the compassion was lacking, and I have been left with grief and trauma that no family should ever have to endure. I am sharing this because I want accountability, and I want MUSC to truly evaluate their staff and procedures so no other family has to go through what mine has gone through. I am still searching for answers and justice

The nurses in the ICU is rude they don’t listen to you when you tell them when you’re in pain and is very dismissive and when I was finished with the MRI they wanted to rush me out the room that I had to walk to the persons car who drove me here, thankfully my ride was willing to come out of his car to help me to get into the car!!!!! Go somewhere to get an MRI and not here
