MultiCare Yakima Memorial Emergency Room

I Arived at a little after 5 Am ,for a scheduled surgery ,had to enter thru ER entrance I was dressed in PJ's loose fitting T for ease of post Op and had my cell phone no keys change ect. I put my phone in the box walked thru the metal detector without a activation .there were three costumed individuals posing as security when I ask for my phone back one of them insisted that I go back thru the detector with my left hand out of my pocket I ask why it didnt beep . I would have left at that point if I had not needed the procedure so I could have use of my left arm again.if the detector would have sounded would have been one thing but this was him trying to bully me and exert some kind of self appointed authority in front of his Co costumed associates. Our emergency room is highly inefficient. I took my husband in at 8pm for an eye injury last night and while I understand it takes time in the ER, waiting 45 minutes in the room to be discharged AFTER being seen by the doctor only holds up the waiting room even further. We were waiting for discharge papers and prescriptions and asked more than once. When we finally said we were leaving, the nurse then says give me 5 minutes. If it took 5 minutes to print off the discharge papers why were we waiting for 45 minutes while the nurses laughed and joked at the nurse station? My husband got dressed and walked out the door without his discharge papers.

Slow, unprofessional, not empathetic at all. Staff needs sensitivity training and service time training. People in gurneys for hours, people waiting in lobby for half a day to speak with someone. Then they drug you up and send you out the door. Hadnt been back in years but have been having serious crohns disease issues decided to go in. They gave me morphine told me I was constipated and to contact a specialist. They missed: an anal fistula (a hole in your butt), fissures and an infection. Im not sure other than a monopoly why these guys are still open to the public. Id be willing to bet more lives lost/cost than saved. My friend and I were in a car accident and came to get checked out. They got us in wicked fast and the nurse who just checked out our vitals quickly was so pleasant and calming (I can’t remember her name unfortunately). We had Sonia Juarez as our ARNP and she was so incredibly nice to us, despite the fact I’m sure we were an absolute emotional wreck. Her attending student, Audra, was also very gentle and caring. I was still in a little bit of shock and she stopped to reassure me and ask how I was doing. That tiny bit of human kindness meant so much. I won’t ever forget how nice and professional they were during a total nightmare situation for us.

I went to two urgent cares that treated me like absolute garbage and did not do testing swabs correctly. I then went to the emergency room, there was a bit of a wait, but they took care of me right off the bat and actually made me feel heard. Gave me antibiotics immediately. I really appreciate it. This is the best I felt all week Just from hours after leaving the emergency room. Thank you guys so much.
