Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus- Emergency Room

Stay far, far away. I have been to the ER twice...The nurses are nice but the doctors are bitter, nasty things who are that way because they know there's a reason they are at the worst hospital in Monmouth/Ocean County. So they take that out on patients and speak to them however they feel like...bedside manner is completely out the window, replaced by shockingly judgemental and insulting behavior in an effort to cover up a total lack of care and competence. When the tables are turned on them one day, they'll see the effect their rudeness and dismissiveness has on sick people who are turning to them for help.

The hospital staff were unbelievably rude. They wouldn’t let me visit a patient because they claimed there were already 15 people visiting her. Despite the absurdity of this claim, and truly foolish manner of it, they insisted there are 15 people visiting and refused to let me go up to visit. The charge nurse came down and again told me I can’t go up because there’s 15 people there when I asked if she could please go up to check as this isn’t true, she said I’ll go up, on my schedule. When I called patient experience to complain about them while waiting there, they freaked out and brought down lots of security, said I was screaming at them, and therefore must leave the hospital now.

This hospital is like ordering fast food at 3am - you'll get something, eventually, but don't expect it to be what you actually needed. The waiting room could honestly double as a retirement home because by the time they call your name, you'll have aged 40 years. Nurses either treat you like family or like you just ruined their day by existing - there's no in-between. Communication? Imagine playing telephone, but the prize at the end is your actual medical information. If hospitals were restaurants, this one would be the place with 2 health code violations, a missing "E" on the sign, and a Yelp review that says, "the food poisoned me, but the fries slapped." Come for the care, stay because they forgot about you.

I’m deeply disappointed and disturbed by the level of care my fiancé received at this hospital. She was brought in by paramedics due to seizure-like symptoms—something that should never be taken lightly. Despite the severity of the situation, no scans or proper evaluations were done. Instead, she was told to “sleep it off” and was discharged within just a few hours. Even after I brought her symptoms and the episode she had before arriving to the doctor’s attention again, I was brushed off and made to feel like I was overreacting. The staff showed a complete lack of empathy and professionalism. At one point, they even laughed in my fiancé’s face and sarcastically said, “What are we supposed to do, just monitor her?” This experience was not only neglectful but incredibly disrespectful and

I called them to make an appointment to recheck after my surgery. And I asked them If I provide my information can you make an appointment for me ? And operator told me it is illegal to look up my information even I provide my name and date of birth. They are really do not know their jobs. No quality control on their calls.
