Be careful about what you sign. Among the endless documents I signed before the surgery, apparently I signed a waiver of my copay amount and agreed to pay a much higher amount. I did sign, so will pay. However, I think it’s very shady to have patients sign documents which go above the agreed price with the insurance. It’s a very stressful time and you sign so many documents, so make sure you read through everything. Not sure how this even legal.
