MinuteClinic at CVS

I needed an immediate appt. It was easy to schedule an appt on line same day. I was seen on time as scheduled. The nurse practitioner was caring and spent time w/me during my visit. I did not feel rushed. At the end of the appt, she told me she hoped I felt better soon.

The MinuteClinic company is filthy and money-hungry. I foolishly assumed they were in network with my insurance as part of CVS and didn’t think I needed to check. Unfortunately that’s not true, but I was never notified of that at the time of my visit. Real time eligibility on registration should tell them that, which protects both them and patients financially. Instead I was told that the vaccine may not be covered due to the CDC nonsense “but if it isn’t it’s only like $150 out of pocket”. Wrong. I received a bill for nearly $400, $105 of which was for the administration of the vaccine. The NP was with me less than 5 min. Charging $105 for 5 minutes of time amounts to $1260/hour. I would never go to Minuteclinic again and am disgusted with CVS for making it look like Minuteclinic is part of CVS. Minuteclinic mistakenly emailed me a bill weeks after getting a covid vaccination which I am certain will be covered by my insurance (as the person who did the vaccination had said). I went to the same CVS today and spoke with someone at their pharmacy. The Minuteclinic was closed (this was about 3 PM on a Tuesday). The pharmacy person said Minuteclinic is a separate company and I'd have to call them, as she has no access to their records. I had thought they were simply the place within the CVS store where vaccinations were done. I had made the appointment through CVS and had no idea they were separate businesses. I went to this minute clinic to get a TB test for work. The first appointment went fine quick and easy. Protocol is 48-72 hours for the test to be read. I made my appointment to come back with the nurse and went on my way. When I came back to get my test read after the waiting period, I arrived 10 min early per instructions. I waited an hour from 9a-10a, and no one showed up. I had somewhere to be at 11 so I left and figured, fine I’ll come back later. I come back at around 3:30p and still nobody was there… So not only did I waste an hour of my morning but I wasted time going back in the afternoon. $30 down the drain… so I ended up going to the urgent care and had to get a TB blood test instead for $95.

Been here for three different appointments. I scheduled each appointment online through Minute Clinic. Every single time I come here to this CVS and I check in at the store, I somehow always wait 50 minutes before I go in, while I watch others just show up and they go right in. This is ridiculous. Why bother have me reserve online in the first place if they do not follow appointments? I recommend to go to a different Minute Clinic as the Paoli location has only given me issue after issue. It’s a shame cause the pharmacists are really nice but I’m never going to come back here again.
