Came here for a second opinion. I felt they were much more honest about what I really needed done and didn't try to over sell me on services. They understood I was on a budget and helped me figure out my insurance and the best way financially to get the work I needed done. I feel like they genuinely care about my well-being. I have recommended this practice to others and they too have been very happy.

I would highly recommend anyone looking to have oral surgery done at this location to reconsider. I had a lingual frenectomy performed by Dr. Afar in this office in mid November. I have had serious complications and permanent damage from the surgery. I was assured by the surgeon he was comfortable and up-to-date on current frenectomy practices. It was clear to me within the first few hours post-op that he hit a nerve and created serious complications. A tongue specialist recently analyzed the footage I had of the initial surgery and observed 1) significant oral bleeding atypical of a frenectomy procedure and 2) thus going blind cutting through blood-covered tissue. Because of this, my post-op recovery was excruciatingly difficult. I couldn’t eat solid foods for 2 weeks, had significant sp

I went because they had the earliest availability for a cleanign. They charged $75 for fluoride and $75 for irrigation, which was just high enough above market rate to raise concerns. They then suggested almost $1000 in dental work, and when I asked for a second opinion, even the receptionist who booked appointment said their suggestions didn't make any sense. I want to give the benefit of the doubt to professionals, but I was really uncomfortable when a woman who was neither the hygenist nor the dentist was asking me to sign off on expensive treatments that I didn't have a full grasp of and it was relayed with a sense of urgency when these concerns haven't been raised by any other past dental providers

Dr. Afar and his staff are kind, attentive, and excellent at their job. I’ve had everything from cleanings, to cavity fillings, to gum graft surgery, and could not recommend their office more. As someone with genetically bad teeth and gums, I’m very anxious about dental work, but I know I am in good hands at Mid-Wilshire Dental Care. I am recovering from gum graft surgery and Dr. Afar has been so attentive every step of the way, always making me feel safe and supported. Azi, the hygienist who does my cleanings, is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met and is truly incredibly good at her job — I would trust her with my life! Leandra and Stephanie at the front desk have helped me navigate the insurance process multiple times. I’ve been thinking about moving out of LA for a couple years no

I went here in 2019 for a consultation because I thought I needed wisdom teeth out. They proceeded to try and get me to pull at 2-3 different teeth and get implants. I knew I had cavities but have never been recommended this so I took my X-rays and went elsewhere. It’s been 6 years and I've have one cavity filled and just recently I need one root canal and the doctor said she wants to try and preventative first. No pain, no teeth pulled. I recently came across the email from this office and decided to google them. I see people are having similar problems to me and I’m here to tell you Keep.Your. Teeth. Go somewhere with PREVENTATIVE care or someone trying to save your teeth, not straight to surgery. Bad practice and are clearly after money.
