Mercy Clinic Pediatrics - Sunset Hills

I've been bringing my now almost 2 year old here since he was born. Dr. Detert and the nurses have been amazing. They know my son and are excited to see how he's grown between visits. Other parents are shocked when I tell them how quickly Dr. Detert referred my son to an ENT when she could tell his ear infections were becoming a chronic issue. She also advocated for us to get him therapy through Missouri's early intervention program, which has made a massive difference in his development!

The nurses and Dr. Barney are great. If you have BCBS of Illinois I have to warn you to stay away. When our 2 month old got all of the standard vaccinations and her care was completely covered as advertised by the this office and Dr Barney being "In Network" under our health insurance. Health insurance pays the whole bill. The follow-up appointment for dose 2 of the exact same shots came up as out of network despite being the same treatment, location, dr, and health insurance. I got a roughly $1300 bill for the routine care. After digging around in hours of phone calls with Mercy Billing, Insurance company, and this office, I found that 'Mercy Clinic Pediatrics - Sunset Hills' had billed the care under a different NPI (identifier in the health care system) than before and it should have wo

My children have been going here for a few years. I have nothing but a great experience. They are always available for an appointment that is convenient. When I call the phone staff is very helpful and friendly and I just love the care Dr. Deter spends with us at our visited. Looking for a reliable pediatrician this is one.

This is strictly due to Mercy and their money hungry politics. It is sad that it is not a CHOICE us as parents have to postpone or reject certain vaccines. Because they follow “ the CDC guidelines” these brainwashed by Big Pharma providers refuse to even do a newborn visit! Shame on them.

My kids have been going here for more than a decade. Great doctors and great front office staff.
