It finally happened- an emergency 🚨 this hospital was in my network and I couldn’t drive far due to excruciating lower back pain. This ER exceeded my expectations. The staff and Dr. was very attentive. From check in to check out it was all so seamless! I received text updates while at the hospital and when I made it to Walgreens after the appointment, I received another update. In this case over communication is key! I was checked in within 12 minutes of arrival, vitals taken, wheelchair accommodation. I saw a Dr and an ultra sound tech and was assisted by medical assistants and nurses. The experience was POSITIVE and PROFESSIONAL. They answered every question with clarity and went above and beyond to ensure I was aware of the tests ordered and how to proceed going forward; I will need a s
Be prepared to wait 9+ hours. I arrived at 4:00 PM and there were very little people there. I got out of there at 1:00 AM. When I finally was taken back to go to my “room”, it was a booth in a hallway separated by dividers. I had to change into an hospital gown(meaning nothing under) and had to sit on the cot in a gown while people walk past my cubical every two seconds. The restroom was down the hall so I had to walk past people and near a busy open area of patients, nurses and EMT’s(in my gown). When I was taken to an exam room, again had to walk far past many people and when we arrived, the room was taken so I had to stand there awkwardly while they figured out when the room will be open. Every nurse and person I talked to were all very caring and nice and made me feel comfortable but t
I made my daughter promise me next time to just let me bleed out in a parking lot before taking me into this ER. Absolutely worst experience of my life. I was sent here by my breast cancer surgeon during a follow up appointment 4 days after surgery because I was having difficulty breathing. I had been hyperventilating for a couple of days and thought originally it was my asthma. I tried to avoid the ER by going to urgent care first but they couldn’t run the tests I needed. The ER ran the tests and made me wait in the waiting room while hyperventilating for several hours. I started feeling pain and strange tingling sensations and asked for medical attention at hour 6 and 7 and was told to “focus on my breathing.” Somewhere around hour 8 I went into an adrenaline surge and syncope and had a
ER put false information in my patient record from ER visit yesterday. I cannot even get someone on the phone to discuss. Doctors were polite. Security had a big attitude and tried to push me around. Security told me I could not sit on the floor when my legs got weak and I slid down the wall. Asked him if he would rather I faint. He told me to get off the floor and go ask for a wheelchair. I could go on further, but I recommend you go to a different ER than Memorial Care ER in Long Beach.
Do not come here. I was getting an IV put in and for some reason, every doctor/nurse was so “excited” to help the emergency rushing patient which was coming in from the ambulance outside, to the point the guy putting the iv in was not even looking at my arm and completely damaged my vein. A different nurse noticed and she took over since it was clear he was doing it completely wrong. The new nurse helping me then missed my vein multiple times and caused excruciating pain to my arm. I stayed quiet about it for a while until they moved me to a different room, i started bursting out crying and my arm started swelling horribly due to the IV ( i literally had a 1 inch bubble of fluid surrounding the IV). A doctor came by and advised i NEEDED the iv even though i was clearly in visible pain and
