MedStar Health: Urgent Care in Towson at Hillside Avenue

I recently visited this location after needed stitches and it was such a great experience. The front desk associate Atiyya was so kind and helpful and both medical assistants Destinee and April were so sweet. My provider Sherry Pearson was so knowledgeable and worked to make sure I was set up for great wound healing. Highly recommend this location!

I’m not sure you’ll like this but here it goes…. I signed up for an 8 am appointment, Christmas Eve. Arrived at 10 of and sat in the car with my husband who drove. At 7:54 I received a text message that said there’s no wait please sign in. I took this as an instruction to head in even though it was five minutes before opening. It was cold, I was sick had the flu from the previous Wednesday and knew it had gone secondary. I turned the door knob and the door abruptly flew open to a woman who aggressively yelled, “we don’t open till 8”.land slammed the door. Mind you, I understood, but received an unclear, misleading text message. She was extremely rude and not how I anticipated being greeted. I returned to the car, irritated and waited until 8. I was very disappointed with our visit. The nurse practitioner Shannon, was impersonal and made us feel rushed, and overall the service we received from her was inadequate. We were literally the only people in the office at the time, so there was definitely an opportunity for her to slow down and provide more attentive care. I truly wish I had not taken my daughter there based on this experience. That said, the rest of the staff we encountered were kind and pleasant, which I appreciated.

We were seen within 15 minutes of arrival. PA Mcjilton put my daughter at ease with her compassion and knowledgable care. We will definitely return to this location.

MedStar Urgent Care on York Rd is my go to place for health care when I cannot get an appointment with my PCP. I have no problems getting a timely appointment or long wait time if I walk-in. The staff is always professional and caring, immediately addressing the health issue I’m experiencing.
