MedStar Health: Urgent Care at Olney

Well I went expecting the usual urgent care situation, crowded room, long wait time, rushed practitioners and either flood or scant information. I couldn't have been more surprised. I had the exact opposite experience. They took me in quickly. They explained everything thoroughly. They went over and above to make sure I was comfortable. And there was no wait time at any point in the visit. Sometimes they put you in a room and and think you're making progress and then just wait there and wait there and wait there. Joseph was the care practitioner. He must have been called to this work. He really has got the touch. Good listener, calm and gentle manner. I am sorry to have delayed in giving my response to my visit to the Urgent Care at Olney... It was a very good one. The atmosphere was pleasant. We were greeted with a welcoming smile by the receptionist. I gave her my reason for bring there, and was seen in less than 20 minutes. Diagnosed in another 15 minutes, and given prescriptions for medicines. Very professional Dr's and assistants. The office and the exam rooms very clean. The waiting room is not one room, but scattered, separated areas to wait. Hard to explain, but very cleverly done. Very pleased with my first experience to an urgent care facility of MedStar!

I’m so impressed with Medstar Urgent Care in Olney! I went for a Pre-Op exam and everyone went above and beyond. I didn’t have the orders from my doctor and couldn’t get them right away. They called the doctor’s office twice instead of sending me away. Then they had to contact the hospital regarding the orders. They still saw me and got the tests done. We weren’t sure about bloodwork and I might’ve needed to go back. They called me not long after I left to let me know that no bloodwork was needed. Everyone was so nice, personable and got the job done! They were happy to help. The Technicians, Nurses, Physicians Assistant and the young lady at the front desk were all so incredible! I would rather go there any day than previous doctors to get treatment.

I had a great experience at this urgent care. From the moment I walked in, Shaniya was kind, professional, and attentive. She was welcoming and efficient, and Ingrid (medical assistant )took the time to really listen to my concerns and explain everything clearly. I never felt rushed, and she made what could have been a stressful visit feel calm and reassuring. It’s clear she truly care about her patients. I’m very grateful for the excellent care and would highly recommend this urgent care to anyone in need.

It was very disappointing. Although I did get in to my room pretty close to my appointment time, I did not have anybody come to my room for an hour that person came in and said someone will be in with you shortly then it took another 15 to 20 minutes for a doctor to come in. I think it’s terrible to make someone wait in a room for an hour and 15 minutes I would rather be in the lobby watching TV or maybe sitting in my car and they could let me know when my appointment time was ready. I made an appointment to come in at 12:20 and didn’t leave until almost 2 o’clock. I feel like that’s very unacceptable. What was the point of making an appointment understand that there are people that come in that may have been a higher priority. But I did make an appointment. And I did call my own doctors o
