MedStar Health: Pharmacy at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital

I always use the Georgetown University Hospital Pharmacy as my Go-To pharmacy. They consistently have medications that are in short supply elsewhere, and they have speedy service and helpful texts to tell you when your prescription is ready (often within minutes of your doctor ordering it). It’s got excellent hours, and they keep it hard to find, which keeps out the riff-raff. Minor drawbacks include their communication issue where they don’t receive your doctor’s request about 30% of the time, and the place is pretty run down and dilapidated, but it is still altogether the best pharmacy I’ve ever found. Thank you Georgetown University Pharmacists for this hidden gem, I’ll never stop going here!!

WARNING: if you ask for your prescription to be mailed, they will send it to the WRONG address and not care! I tried to call to let them know someone’s prescription was delivered to my address (the WRONG address) and they REFUSED to help! “You need to take it back to fedex” was the response I received. They didn’t ask me for the name on the script, nothing. The 2 women I spoke to on the phone were so rude, nasty, and unhelpful it’s a shame they work in healthcare. If you or your loved one need medical assistance, consider elsewhere as it’s obvious they do not value their patients lives.

The distinguishing characteristics of this pharmacy are: great staff, efficient services, and the ability to find drugs in short supply. Every interaction I've had has been a success.

Had my doctor call in a prescription twice and they lost it twice. First I called and was confused as to how they didn’t have my script when it had been sent in the day before. They told me the rx didn’t exist so I called my doctor to have it sent again. She called me and confirmed that she had sent it again. The next day I called and they once again claimed it didn’t exist. I explained it had been called in twice. Turns out they hadn’t checked the answering machine in over a day. I listened to them listen to the prescription voicemail. Twice. The guy apologized and said they were out of stock so I would need to get it the next day. So I wait another day. Then I call and surprise surprise they don’t have any prescription on file. I give up. Unless you are being discharged from this hospita

I have unpleasan experience ag this pharnacy. My mom is weak and diabetic. Wehave been told to wait for 10 minutes and come back for pick up but the customer service women didn't apologized when telling us the medocen is not ready to be picked up up on return. Very disrespectful and bad customer service. I wont come back again and Not recommend this place for others at all.
