Med First Primary & Urgent Care - James City

73 year old male here. I was feeling extremely bad today and was suffering with a severe throat problem. I walked into the clinic shortly after 1p and was seen within 15 minutes, out in 45 minutes. The attendants and the physician were extremely pleasant and professional. Everything went well during my checkup except for some reason my lungs were not checked. Both my nose and my throat were swabbed for signs of covid and flu virus. However, my lungs were not checked and I did not ask. My fault, I did not know the clinic rules. But, I feel like I'm having the beginning if bronchitis. Maybe, I should have said something, but I hurt to bad at the time. My intake nurse took my temp, BP, other vitals, and asked questions. She was great. Gave me an injection in my hip and showed me a trick that

I've been going here for 3-4 years. I am always treated with the utmost respect, kindness, and warmth. I trust no one other than this hard-working and knowledgeable team and with my primary medical care. I used to have a high level of white coat syndrome, but I feel like I can just talk to these amazing people, be treated like a human, and always feel like they have my best interests in mind in each interaction. This includes the front desk workers, medical assistants, nurses, and of course, Doc Sam (Samantha Carlson). I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a new healthcare team. You won't regret choosing Med First in James City.

I'm happy with the office and the care. My problem is with the incessant messages telling me to confirm again and again, finish tasks, reminders, even after I had a call confirming my appointment.. Yesterday even one message after my appointment to suggest that we can all be forgetful, yada, yada, yada. I have issues but not regarding my memory. Geez, the messages are enough to drive you crazy. When I have time to do my task, I will. One appointment reminder is sufficient. It is on my calender. But again, the office care is fine. They listen and have been very helpful.

If you are looking for primary care in the New Bern area, look no further. The staff is knowledgeable and caring. They will get you in and out quickly. I have nothing but good things to say. Give them a call. You will be happy that you did!

My provider was out and I needed an apt. Scheduled on Friday for Monday. Was charged a convenient care instead of a scheduled appointment. The provider never even did an examination for what my visit was for. She stood across the room and just talked about my symptoms. I’ve been waiting 5 days on a non narcotic medication refill. Definitely not the care they used to provide.
