Mayo Clinic Urology

I have been a patient for 8 years. Everyone I have dealt with has been great. Dr. Kwon is on top of everything and an excellent clinician. He both suggests what can be done and what should be done with no pressure. I am doing this review because of the construction. The area is a zoo. The first day I valet parked and dropped off the car went fine. When I went to get it at the end of the day, I was very disappointed. When I paid (the cost was reasonable at $8) I asked how long the wait would be and was told 15-20 minutes. I waited 45 minutes. And there were only 5 people ahead of me. It appeared the staff was in no hurry at all. The next day we self-parked with no trouble, and it was free. This is going to be a long project. I will go back but I will self-park.

I've been seen at this location for Urology for over 5 years and running. I've seen a number of different providers for follow up care, only 1 of which seems to match the demeanor of the numerous negative reviews. All of the other providers and staff that I have interacted with have been superb. Having gone to numerous different medical facilities outside of Mayo, I think people sometimes forget how hit or miss healthcare can be in 2025. This isn't the early 2000s anymore where you could throw a stone and hit a good doctor. And the outstanding facilities and providers are bogged down because everyone is searching for good care. Just keep this in mind the next time you go to see a provider and your experience isn't A+++.

I went here in 2006 after having severe, life destroying bladder pain 24/7 for 6 months. I was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis and told I would have to live with it for the rest of my life. Dr. Lomas has provided excellent consultations, taking time to answer questions and review results while displaying sincere interest in the patient. He co-authored Mayo's book on Prostate Health and treatment, an excellent read for anyone wanting to understand the subject. The doctor's residents have taken time to thoroughly understand symptoms and explain test results. Visits are thoroughly documented in the portal. While you'll find some negative reviews for this department, you should pay attention to positive reviews posted under real names.

I had a procedure done here and the staff did a great job helping me through it. Dr. Helo took plenty of time to make sure I understood everything and could not have been more helpful. Dr. Cohen was very quick to respond and extremely helpful when I had follow up questions and pain following my procedure. Mayo is by far the best healthcare institution I've ever been treated at.
