Marshall Pediatrics - Teays Valley

We waited almost a year and a half to have our son seen. They refused to see him until he was 5. The first appt was maybe 30 mins. No testing done on my child just asked us some questions and said its adhd, speech delay and developmental delay. Next appt less than 20mins seeing Dr she thows him on adhd meds. I call 2 weeks later to report that its made him a zombie but no one answers no one calls back. I called to say we would miss appt and they never answered never called back. Then I get a completely nasty note in the mail about how I should let them know if we miss appts! This place is a joke. Im pretty sure my son has autism. He hits alot of markers for it but they want to throw him on adhd meds and be done with it. This was no evaluation in my opinion.

I have been called four or five times now AT LEAST over the course of being seen here to be informed that my son’s doctor’s appointment needs rescheduled. Seems like the pediatricians here just can’t make up their minds about what their schedules are or if they even want to be in the office. I like my son’s doctor but not enough to put up with this constant issue of our appointments getting rescheduled. After my son’s next appointment, assuming it doesn’t get rescheduled AGAIN, we will be switching practices. Editing to add: Actually, I went ahead and transferred my son’s care somewhere else. The doctors at Marshall Health Pediatrics clearly don’t respect anyone’s time, so I’m not dealing with it any longer than I’ve already had to.

The Doctors, PA’s , nurses and staff at Marshall Pediatrics Teays Valley office are always extremely professional from check in to check out. They are all awesome people.

Dr Walker and her nurse do a fabulous job with my child that is nonverbal and has profound autism. They “go with the flow” with getting as much of the exam done as possible without upsetting my child. They listen to the parent when giving shots and the best way to do that safely and successfully for my child. Our last appointment, my child was very out of sorts and did not do well. They handled it well and reassured this flustered mom it was all okay. I also like that I feel part of the team when looking at her healthcare and when getting outside specialists. Walker looks at the whole child. I recommend them frequently to other families navigating special needs.

Nice people but SOOOO SLOW! I'd like to keep this place as my son's pediatrician but they will keep you waiting during every single appointment which is just asinine
