Marieke Schuurs

Marieke helped us immensely with the birth of our second son. After a traumatic first birthing experience without the advocacy and presence of a doula, we were beyond grateful for the guidance and care we received from Marieke with our second baby. She met with us beforehand and coached on everything from breathing techniques to alleviate aches and pains in the final trimester, to stretches for preparing for labor, and assistance on building a written birth plan for the hospital. The day of our son’s birth, she was at the hospital first thing to help make sure all went according to our birth plan, and we were so impressed with her resolve in making sure all went according to that plan anytime we were being pressured by staff in any way.
