Emma Rae was our midwife for our third child. Our first two birth experiences were not ideal, and because of that we were anxious about this child. From the start Emma was able to ease our fears. She not only has incredible bedside manner, impeccable attention to detail, but her knowledge and clinical abilities exceeded our expectations. She is full of compassion, and brought a calm, grounding, watchful presence to every checkup. As well as my to birth experience. Not only did she make us all feel cared for, she listened with an open heart on every step of this journey. Making sure to meet our needs, she drove an hour plus for the delivery, postpartum checkups, and aftercare doula work. She was there for us in more ways than I can express. I went into my first home birth having had two medicated hospital births under my belt. I knew my body could do the work but the idea of birthing at home was a bit daunting for me. Through months of appointments leading up to my home birth I was able to build the greatest friendship with Emma. I trusted that she would be able to support me through my labor and delivery, and she truly did. She was a constant for me all day and into the night, when I thought I couldn't take any more I would look to her and feel peace in the midst of the storm. My husband and I were so lucky to have Emma as our midwife during our first pregnancy. The care and support she gave us throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum were exceptional and deeply meaningful. Emma was my midwife at two of my births. It was long, hard, and at times overwhelming, and I was incredibly vulnerable. Through every contraction, every moment of doubt and fear, Emma never left me. I felt held — not just medically, but emotionally — with so much love and presence. When I felt like I couldn’t do it anymore, she helped me find my way back to myself. By the end, the relief was immense and emotional, and I realized how safe I had felt the entire time. I will never forget the way I was supported during one of the most intense experiences of my life. I am endlessly grateful.
