MaineHealth Cardiology - Scarborough

Over the past 6 months I have been hospitalized a total of 4+ weeks with cardiac issues, each time for over 2 weeks. Upon discharge the first time I was told that there were no cardiologist appts. available for me to become a patient so I was left on my own to figure out medications, or get answers from non-cardiologists. The second discharge requires an in-person visit before you can use telehealth or any other assistive devices because befort that visit you aren't considered a patient of the practice. As a disabled person who requires crutches for walking due to a car accident in 2007, severe lymphedema, and multiple other chronic health issues, I cannot believe that a cardiac service whose doctors I saw at least daily while hospitalized is now stating that they cannot see me until I

I saw Dr. Cruden for the first time in December of 2024. Strong family history of heart disease. I have worked in the medical field my entire life so writing reviews I believe is important in medicine. Dr Cruden is absolutely fabulous in my opinion. He listened to my concerns, which is key. We discussed some testing which I totally agreed with. February I had my tests (everything was okay). I returned in June for followup, our conversation was informative, interesting and I absorbed the information like a sponge. From reception to Bill the nurse, my experience was excellent. Thank you.

5* experience for me. Had recent afib ablation by Dr. Corsello. Outstanding physician with excellent responsive staff. The Maine Med experience was exemplary from the moment I arrived, while in the OR, and through the recovery period and discharge. We are so fortunate to have such excellent care offered close to home.

Have had a referral since October, no call back. When I called I was told the person scheduling wasn’t there . Not acceptable. Apparently I’m a low priority because I haven’t had an event yet . So much for preventive care. My father went to this practice and ultimately left because of these very reasons. Update: Once I actually got into see the practitioners, everything was great. I’m sure this is a very busy practice but the office needs some help.

Terrible experience with Maine Health Cardio in Scarborough. I won't go into specifics because I want to protect my own medical information. However, I have had 2 conversations with NP's on the messaging system (so all documented) where I pointed out some very concerning ways I had been treated (ex. never giving me test results, canceling my follow up appointments with no explanation, literally documenting that I didn't complain about "chest pain" and other things when I was complaining about it). The last one I canceled my follow up after a surgery (a 3 month follow up, I never heard from anyone after leaving the hospital until 6 weeks later when I got a portal message telling me about this follow up) expressing that it was because of my discomfort with the practice.
