LWSS Family Dentistry - Virginia Beach - Red Mill

My daughter had her first appointment at LWSS on Christmas Eve. Our hygienist, Ashley, was AMAZING with my daughter AND me, ha! She was quick, thorough, and REALLY kind. Dr. Boone was great too and explained everything at the end of the exam. Even the other hygienist who helped push the x-ray button while Ashley kept my daughter in the right position was sweet. I was nervous about starting somewhere new- we had been at our old dentist for years when they stopped being in our insurance network, but I am so happy to have found LWSS for my daughter. Thank you and see you guys in 6 months!

Recently had to change dentist practice after 20 yrs and was pleasantly surprised after walking out of two other practices I was trying out the prior week! Love this practice from the front desk ladies, to my hygienist , Julie and the dentist! Super nice, knowledgeable and so nice to see that they not out trying to charge you for things you don’t need! Highly recommend!

This is a great practice with high quality, state of the art technology. The staff is professional, kind, and caring. The treatment I received (filling removal, crown prep, and a temporary crown placement) was practically painless and my tooth was not sore the following day, either. Both the dentist and the assistant were knowledgeable and highly skilled. I was impressed. My husband and I both made appointments to return.

I have been a patient with this practice for over 20 years. My husband left the practice years ago and my daughter left this year. I should have followed. I had an appointment scheduled 2 months ago that had to be rescheduled because of a regional meeting the office was attending. So I was 2 months late getting my cleaning. Prior to my cleaning the hygienist (not my regular person) did a 3D imaging of my teeth. Weird...but ok and there was no cost. We did a fluoride treatment. I asked to have a very small chip on my tooth filed down and was told that I would need to make another appt because the dentist was at lunch. Ummmm...what? Yup...at lunch. I don't want to deny anyone lunch, but him being at lunch means I DID NOT SEE A DENTIST! I was told he would read my 3D images and let

The clinical staff here was great — everyone I interacted with in the back was kind, gentle, and professional, and I really appreciated the quality of care from the hygienist and clinical team. However, my experience with the front desk and billing department was not as smooth. At my visit in May 2025, they ran my dental insurance and told me everything was covered, so I went ahead with the cleaning. Several months later, in November 2025, I received a bill stating the cleaning was not covered after all. Had I been told this upfront, I would have canceled the appointment or rescheduled. I was originally a patient at Sandbridge Dental, and when they closed, all patients — including myself — were directed to this practice and our records were sent over.
