Luxor at Sayville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center

My mother has been in Luxor for a full week. I have been very happy with the care that she's receiving. From physical therapy to nursing. She even enjoys her meals. It makes me extremely happy and relieved to know that my mother is treated with kindness and respect while getting excellent care!

If I could give 0 stars I would. My grandmother was just here for ONLY 2 weeks. She recently fell and broke her hip and needed rehab. She was up and walking around at the hospital and making progress. This facility would have KILLED her if we kept her there. She declined so much because nobody worked with her or allowed her to walk. They kept her in a wheelchair almost the entire stay and her legs got so swollen she was unable to walk by the end of her stay. My grandmother who is mentally fully with it and her roommate who it also fully with it told us the staff was verbally and physically abusive towards my grandmother. Nursing staff , front desk , concierge and nurses aides were very pleasant ,answered all questions and concerns. One complaint is; the food should be more appealing to the residents. Diets specialized to each resident. When a person is not at home they kind of depend on the food. If it isn't to their liking , especially a diabetic...it could be disheartening to them. Ruin their day. All NH's and hospitals should improve on the menu choices and how the food is cooked.

My Aunt has been in this nursing facility for over two years. I had done my homework and visited many other facilities prior to her being admitted. As soon as I met Angela and Dominique, I knew this was it. They understood my situation. From the first time speaking with Angela over the phone to today, she has been helpful and pleasant to deal with, along with being very professional and caring. Being that I live a mile away, I see my aunt quite often. I pop up all different times during the day, as do my siblings. My Aunt is always clean and cared for. They are always doing activities, and for safety, she is wheelchair bound. Although she is 93, she is always with other people and in the mix of what’s going on. So far the staff has been really attentive and great . Food is ok , but most of all the community is really what got me . My friend bea is in this place and truly she is thriving even more than she did at home . She even was able to share her faith of Jesus Christ to her roommate and she ended up giving her life to Jesus this morning . ThankYOU this facility rocks
