I took my two year old here after moving from out of town. the billing office does not understand simple billing terminology such as the difference between a well visit and a sick visit. the doctor suggested that my child receive a fluoride treatment on his well visit. We explained that we had dental insurance.They said it was fine, they could perform it there, and they did. a month later, we received a bill for ninety five dollars for the deductible for the floor I treatment. i called our Cigna dental insurance. And they said that fluorite treatment is a prevented to visit and is covered at a 100%. They asked, I call the billing office and tell them to submit the claim to the dental office. however, when I called the billing office on numerous occasions over the course of 4 to 5 months, e

My very first time I went here I went for my child's 2 year check up and he received a fluoride treatment. Knowing that preventative dental care is covered in my insurance I was completely fine with this. My insurance company upon receiving the bill said that this office did not bill this correctly as preventative dental, which it clearly is. This was over six months ago and at least ten phone calls as well as being in the office and telling their front desk staff this exact same thing, at least four or five times. We even had a three-way call with my insurance company, Cigna and the billing department or billing manager, so they said, and they were advised to resend the bill correctly in my insurance company told me not to pay the bill until it is build correctly. We love Dr Merens & Dr Thomas! We switched over to Chicago area pediatrics after a not so great experience with advocate when my daughter was an infant. They are always so quick to get back to us & are very reassuring & patient with me (an anxious first time mom). They are always able to get us in same day or the next day when my daughter is sick & they don’t just send you straight to the ER when unnecessary like other pediatricians. We’ve been going there for over a year now. I appreciate the small office feel because you really get to know the doctors & it’s usually the same support/tech staff which is nice to see familiar faces. We couldn’t recommend them enough!

Sadly, since Dr. Traisman has left this practice it has become more of a churning operation. Unfriendly, unhelpful and not overly knowledgeable beyond the basic cold/flu symptoms. It felt like a caring family practice before. I can't recommend them.

Loved Dr. Valerie Kimball-straightforward, common sense, kind. I have a premie so it was a relief to have a doctor who could tell me what and what not to worry about. We just moved but would totally stay with her otherwise. Also wait times were always fine.
