Lurie Children's Outpatient Center

I visited the Lurie Children’s Outpatient Center and was genuinely impressed by how thoughtfully designed the space feels. From the moment you walk in, it doesn’t have that cold, clinical atmosphere you might expect. Instead, it’s bright, colorful, and clearly built with kids and families in mind. The staff came across as patient, warm, and professional. You can tell they’re used to working with children — they communicate clearly and try to make both the kids and parents feel at ease. The check-in process felt organized, and the facility itself was clean and well-maintained. Overall, the Outpatient Center reflects the reputation of Lurie Children’s Hospital: compassionate, efficient, and centered around making a stressful experience a little more manageable for families.

Fantastic ophthalmology group. The front desk staff, latrice, was warm and welcoming. (It’s nice to see a smiling face greet you). The ophthalmology tech, Steve, is incredible. He was kind, efficient, and kept my child relaxed and engaged during her initial vision exam . The physician Dr Yin, was sweet and thorough. She explained everything clearly. It was a quick but pleasant dilation appointment for my little one ! I highly recommend them!

Immediate care staffs are really great. We made an appointment online and waited there within 10minutes on that day. Representative lady was also good and polite.

The speech therapist named Mitch has no idea what he is doing. He was very dismissive of my concerns. He witnessed my child choking during a feed (which happens constantly and was the reason for our visit) and just dismissed it saying it wasn’t an issue. He could not or would not answer my questions as to why it kept happening and had no solutions to try and help us. I recommend seeing any other speech therapist.

I would never recommend this clinic to anyone. I drove over an hour and a half to get there, only to be told that my child could not be seen. To make matters worse, the clinic has multiple elevators that are out of order, forcing patients to use three different elevators and walk through a parking garage just to get to the clinic. The reception area was no better—Jacqueline (the receptionist) was incredibly rude. When I explained that I had driven such a long distance, her response was, “I know, and I told the doctor.” The problem is, I hadn’t even mentioned where I was coming from yet, so it was an unnecessary and dismissive comment. This was supposed to be a simple appointment for my child, but now my daughter will be late for school for absolutely no reason. This visit has been a total
