Lower Harbor Family Dental- Dr. Palomaki

I had a fantastic experience with this office! I just had a change in insurance, and I was looking for a new dentist. They were able to schedule me in within the week I called. The staff were courteous & quick with my appointment. Their waiting area was also a big plus; it had nice lighting, a view of the Ore Dock from above and relaxing videos of the Great Lakes playing on the TV.

The staff is professional and friendly. Dr Palomaki is the absolute best with her patients as well! She is especially kind and gentle with my son who is neurodivergent and has a fear of dental work. The office always does their best to squeeze us in when we have an emergency, even during the super busy end of year and sends prompt referrals to other specialists if/when needed.

They lack basic care and compassion for their clients. My fillings were done haphazardly, now I cannot eat on my right side and my bite feels off. A filling should not cause this much pain. Go somewhere else.

I am so glad I found a good dentist. Not only is Dr Palomaki gentle and caring but all the staff and dental hygienists and dental assistances are gentle and caring as well. It means so much to me!

Was convinced to have a root canal and crown done instead of having the tooth pulled. Had to pay out of pocket as my insurance did not cover it. After only 3 years, had to have the tooth pulled. Was told by a different dentist that the root canal probably shouldn’t have been done as it was too far gone. Seems like she was just trying to get more money out of me instead of recommending the correct course of action. Also my mother was told she had multiple cavities but went and got a second opinion and was told she had ZERO cavities. They’re in it for the money instead of doing the best thing for the patient.
