Lixin Zhang, MD PhD

I was worried after reading reviews, but I overall had a good experience with Dr Zhang. He listened to my concerns and ordered follow up testing. Thomas, who did my occipital nerve blockers, was very kind and gentle.

Please see anybody else. I came here as a follow up from my MRI and vestibular testing. First thing he does, orders me vestibular testing. At my vestibular testing follow up appointment. He then tells me that because I have anxiety in my chart, that is the reason for my dizziness. I have been following with mental health for a year since my accident. My reason for my visit was literally because my MRI proved that my dizziness was not caused by my mental health. Very rude, kept leaving the room without asking me if I had questions, didn’t want to look at my MRI results, then the cherry on top. Once I got him back in the room a final time because he kept leaving, he looked at my ocular MRI and saw a result I got and asked if I am following with Optometry. Horrible bedside manner - cold, disinterested, and did not explain anything. He seemed bored and annoyed for the whole visit. Brushed off my questions and didn’t give me answers to some of them. He wasn’t interested in hearing anything I had to say. I don’t know why he’s a medical provider because he showed no empathy or motivation to help me. It was obvious he didn’t read any of my records prior to my visit. Incredibly disappointed that I drove 3 hours round trip for a 10 minute visit with a doctor who couldn’t care less.

The scheduling department told me that Dr. Zhang was the best person for me to see for long COVID-related symptoms - this was absolutely not the case. During my appointment, Dr. Zhang told me both that he doesn't really follow the research on post-COVID syndromes and that "nobody could do much for [my] symptoms." I was hoping to transfer care after moving back to Buffalo from New York City. When I stepped into his office, it didn't matter that I had been diagnosed with and treated for post-COVID dysautonomia by three other specialists. According to him, I'm fatigued and foggy because I'm depressed and anxious - not because my diagnosed chronic illness causes fatigue and brain fog. He wanted to prescribe me an anti-convulsant medication that is not indicated whatsoever for my medical cond

I went to see Dr.Zhang regarding my vertigo. He did one test and said it wasn’t crystals misplaced in my ear canal(most common cause of vertigo). He wanted me to do more tests that were extremely expensive. I decided to go to a chiropractor and had a common procedure done and my vertigo was fixed in one visit. I called and complained about paying $400 for a wrong diagnosis. The complaint manager Tara rudely rushed me off the phone after 5 minutes and said Dr. Zhang said he was doing this for 30 years and wasn’t wrong. I urge you to find a doctor and office that cares for their patients and has the desire to help you instead of only wanting to be “right “.
