Life Long Dental Care

Avoid this office. Misleading pricing and aggressive upselling. I went to Life Long Dental Care in Old Saybrook in October for their advertised new patient special (exam, x-rays, and cleaning), planning to pay out of pocket as listed on their website. After the appointment, I was told they had “found” I needed a deep cleaning, which suddenly disqualified me from the special. I was then presented with a bill for around $700 for the exam and x-rays at their “market rate,” plus a push for a $1,200+ deep cleaning. None of this was clearly disclosed beforehand. I was not told that being told I “needed” a different type of cleaning would void the special. I have had no problems with the dentist or the hygienist but their policies with payment sucks. You have to pay in full before you leave (they say it’s because they are in network) then they have the balls to bill you more. They will belittle people at the front desk for payment. Keep all receipts of payment they do not credit accounts. I have called several times and mailed copies of cashed checks and they still can’t get it right. All appointments have been cancelled with them.

Myself and my family have been patients of Dr B for 30 years? I absolutely love him. We have never had a billing problem and only had an appointment rescheduled 1 x for no reason. We left the practice 1 year ago. I had not seen my dentist for at least 3-4 visits…which is 1 1/2 - 2 years worth of cleanings. My breaking point? I had an issue and needed to see a dentist.. called and was advised 2 weeks … 2 weeks! I immediately started searching for a new dentist and we have not gone back since. Dr B you have a serious problem with the practice and need to downsize ASAP. When you cannot handle the patient load it’s time to downsize.

They gave me a quote estimate with what they said was a $3,000 write off.. I paid them 2300, and they did the first part. I went to my appointment to have the bridge installed, and they told me I owed them The full amount without the write-off, because they said my insurance company didn't pay. I refused to pay, and they said they wouldn't proceed without payment. I told them fine and left. They called me a few days later and said that I only owed them $1,400, which I paid and they installed the bridge. They are now dunning me for 3000 plus dollars. They knew very well from the start that my insurance company did not pay for a write down agreement with them. It was all a scam. I recommendation is stay the hell away.
